I used to be able to install a extension by placing a xpi in the extension folder but suddenly it doesn't work again and it hasn't work for a couple of weeks now. firefox keeps asking me to install the xpi when I restart. it doesn't seems to remove the already installed xpi file from the extension directory
in the console I see this: A Item Package appeared at: C:\Private\Mozilla\Profiles\Mozilla Firefox\gemal\extensions\launchy.xpi that we know nothing about, assuming it was dropped in by the user and configuring for installation now. Location Key: app-profile to reproduce: 1) download a xpi file for an extension you dont have installed 2) place the xpi file in the extension folder in your profile 3) restart and click install
the addons says: Will be upgraded when restartet Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20060607 Minefield/3.0a1 ID:2006060713 [cairo]
