After a few sleep - wake cycles the system wakes very sluggishly and firefox and thunderbird eat all system resources

Thunderbird 1.5.0.12 and Firefox 2.0.0.4 
(latest versions as of june 8th 2007)
still exhibit this same problem.
Does the same thing happen if you make a new firefox profile?

This thing has stopped happening.
Without makin a new profile.
