User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:1.8.0.4) Gecko/20060508 Firefox/1.5.0.4 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:1.8.0.4) Gecko/20060508 Firefox/1.5.0.4 I keep trying to load the new Yahoo homepage. However, I have to resort to doing that in IE. Everytime I go to the homepage in Firefox, I get an error that reads: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more info. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Load: www.yahoo.com 2. 3. Actual Results: Open Firefox. Type yahoo.com into the address bar and press enter to load. Error message pops up as page is loading. Expected Results: The Yahoo Homepage should load normally, not leave me to switch back and forth between IE and Firefox.

Could you install with talkback and get a talkback ID for the crash? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Talkback

My error shows only when the new Yahoo! Homepage comes up. It is as follows: Microsoft C++ Runtime Library PROGRAM:C:\PROGRAM FILES\MOZILLAFIREFOX\FIREFOX.EXE This application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
go to about:plugins, do you have a ypstate plugin or something? if so, arrange to not have it. ispiked: the runtime error dialog leads to an abort() talkback won't catch it.

reporter, are you using the same profile switching back and forth between trunk and branch builds? if so this may be related to bug 332972.

wfm with latest nightly and with the firefox 2.0 release on both www.yahoo.com and http://www.yahoo.com/?p=1150270296 I'm guessing that the reporter has an extension or some form of profile corruption causing the issue. Build identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/2006112704 Minefield/3.0a1

All the dupes are by people reporting the crash and never responding to any question, like here. feel free to reopen if there's anything usefull to add (like talkback) for now->INVA
