User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20060609 SeaMonkey/1.5a Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20060609 SeaMonkey/1.5a The Compose window in the mailer flags every word as being mispelled. To put it another way, it seems to either be unable to find the dictionary or it acts like the dictionary has no words in it. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set Mail/Compose preferences to "Check Spelling as You Type" 2. Start editing a message 3. Enter some text. Actual Results: Every word is flagged as a spelling error. Expected Results: Only incorrect words, proper names, unusual words should be flagged. Thunderbird works normally.
Hmm, do we include the dictionary in the trunk builds?
This has been bugging me for some time now. When I press F7, it selects every word in my email as being spelled incorrectly! I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but to no avail. I'm using version 1.5.0.10 (20070221). I've also tried adding the UK English dictionary. I know how to spell - but Thunderbird obviously doesn't. Don't know when this was introduced, but maybe 1 or 2 months ago?
Apologies - for 'F7' substitute 'the Spell button of Ctrl-K'. Hangover from Outlook (oops). (Why can't I edit my post?)
The only thing I've seen similar to this is a problem on Linux whereby I had installed the dictionary but I didn't have read privileges (the user I installed it as did, but not me), so I could select the dictionary, but it was effectively empty.
Dave, Thunderbird v1.5.x is not supported anymore. Timothy, Dave, Can you reproduce with SeaMonkey v1.1.9 ? (or Thunderbird v2.0.0.12 ?)
