Gary, I saw the conversation you had in #build about contributing 1.5.0.x builds for Ubuntu Breezy on PPC (which led to this bug). Do you want to upload a deb package or a tarball ? Who's version of the source are you building with ? If your answers are deb and Ubuntu then there may be a policy decision for someone at Mozilla to make (because of the modifications that both Debian & Ubuntu make to the Mozilla source).
Hi Nick, My preference is to upload a tarball including some notes with regard to its origins and build instructions etc. The source for the build was acquired via the Mozilla site src for 1.5.0.4, and yes, built on Ubuntu Breezy. If policy need be made, i welcome it.
Ok Gary: your account has been created. You can access it with 'ssh gelshaw@stage.mozilla.org' and your public/private keypair. Let me know if you have any trouble logging in, and I can try to get you sorted out. The ftp space is located in /home/ftp. You are part of the mozcontrib group, which should give you access to edit /home/ftp/pub/firefox/releases/1.5.0.4/contrib. Of course, your account is solely for the purpose of posting contributed builds, and you should not use it for personal use or any other purpose. As Nick pointed out, please post only builds built from mozilla.org source. If you need to apply patches/make modifications to build on your platform, that's fine, but obviously no distro changes. With any build you upload, please include a README file with your name and email address, system and library requirements, a list of any special build options or patches you used, and any other relevant information. Thanks for contributing these builds! --zach
