Also found with the last update with Microsoft problems with its handling of it security software notices it is finding errors only in it competitors software. This something to note: My Registry mechanic software noted Registry changes to software after last Microsoft update. Only after repairing and re- installing Firefox have i found a stable Firefox. also had to report failure of my Anti virus software to zonealarm But repairing this problem i only had to look to Microsoft new Fireman program . Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.after last windows software update to xp 2.safe mode every time 3.repaired but lost custom settings by wipe and new install of Firefox

Problem is with delivering a prerelease version of Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications software to PCs as a "high priority" item in the built-in update feature in Windows. The tool, also known as WGA Notifications, is used to validate the authenticity of Windows software installed on a PC. This happen to effect Firefox & Registry making Firefox only work in default mode only repair i could use was to download Firefox and install. Windows has problem validating Firefox software & add ons
So, the bug is that Windows Update corrupted your registry? I'm sorry, but there's nothing that Firefox can do about that.
