User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.0.4) Gecko/20060508 Firefox/1.5.0.4 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.0.4) Gecko/20060508 Firefox/1.5.0.4 The unresponsive scrip message appears since I installed last update available (FF 1.5.0.4) for OSX 10.3, a week ago. It occurs all the time, no matter what page I am. Even when I started looking for answers on Mozzila help page, there was it. Sometimes, pressing the continue or stop script button works, but sometimes both buttons are inactive, then I have to quit the application, loosing all open tabs. I'm an ordinary internet user. I don't understand anything about browser development and I don't know if I'm reporting the bug correctly. I've tried to stop the message box uninstalling all extensions I had, but it didn't work. Is there any way to solve this annoying problem or should I stop using FF? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Updated the Firefox 2.Updated Google Toolbar 3.Message box of unresponsive script started appear Actual Results: Sometimes I can continue to navigate just pressing the button (continue or stop script), sometimes I have to quit FF. The problem is that the message box appear all the time. Expected Results: Software should have allowed the navigation ont the page the message box appeares, after pressing the button, but it keep continuing displaying the message and requiring some user action

dupe of bug 335058 ? workaround: you can increase the value of the pref dom.max_script_run_time , see http://kb.mozillazine.org/About:config note: the direct cause is that your browser runs very slowly. Maybe you have too many extensions running simultaneously ?
The bug was solved when I updated to Firefox 2.0.
