Details

The servers and databases at mozilla.org (bugzilla, cvs, wikis, mozilla.org web site) are very important for my group at Red Hat, which includes some of the nspr, nss, ldap c sdk, and other mozilla components. Due to a recent failure in another important site (bugzilla.redhat.com), we are documenting the backup, restore, and data retention policies and procedures for the servers upon which we depend. Under the mozilla.org umbrella, this includes the following sites, both for server availability/failover and for the actual data (source code, html pages, databases) server by those sites: www.mozilla.org wiki.mozilla.org developer.mozilla.org cvs.mozilla.org lxr.mozilla.org bugzilla.mozilla.org

Surely there is some document which lists this information? If so, just a link to it would suffice.
Backups are done nightly (weekly full, nightly incremental) to tape. Tapes are taken off site monthly and retained for at least a year. Please re-open this bug if you need further info with more specifics.

One more question: What would be the best way of setting up a mirror of cvs.mozilla.org and bugzilla.mozilla.org? Would it be possible to set up something with rsync or another mechanism like that?

I doubt you can mirror bugzilla, but mirroring cvs probably wouldn't be that hard.
CVS: Yes, via anonymous rsync from cvs-mirror.mozilla.org Bugzilla: No, there are various access levels with usernames, passwords, sensitive/private data, etc. We do one-off exports but they require a lot of scrubbing of user and other sensitive data - not something we can do on a regular basis. Reopen if you need anything else.
