When scrolling up and down by dragging the grab handle (citing mossop), the scrollbars background color changes ... the screenshot should show that better than i can explain.
It's on all scrollbars (even the one you see on the right --->
in the nightly drunk.

Just scroll with the mouse, not the mousewheel.
