User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322) Build Identifier: TBird 188.8.131.52 (20060516) Tools | Options |Composition | HTMLOptions allows changes to default text font, size, color and background color for HTML compositions. While font and size take effect immediately upon opening a new composition window (Write), Tbird must be Exit-ed and then re-launched in order for the new default text and background colors to take effect. Would be more convenient if the colors take effect immediately, as do the font and size. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Select Tools | Options |Composition | HTML Options 2.Change Text and Background colors 3.OK-out 4.Click on Write and type a message Actual Results: Text and background color in composition window do not acquire new default settings. They are still the colors that were the defaults prior to the above change. Expected Results: Text and background color in composition window should have appeared according to the new default settings. The Text and background color in composition window do appeared according to the new default settings only after Tbird is Exit-ed and then re-launched.
It's not true that a relaunch is required; what is required is opening a second HTML compose window while the first (with the undesired color) is still open, then closing the first. Compose windows are "cached" which means rather than closing it entirely and then recreating it (which is a little slow) they are hidden and then reopened with the text fields all cleared. In 1.5 and earlier versions, the colors and other attributes weren't getting reset properly when the cached window is re-shown, but in 2.0 they are. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 294793 ***
