Until a few days ago, I had an old version of sunbird. I downloaded the news version, but it will not open. The first time I tried to open it, my comptuer locked up. The next time I clicked it, my computer slowed like it was going to open it, but then nothing happened.

I unistalled and reinstalled, and tried again, but it still will not open. The older version worked correctly, I never had a problem. I have not had any problems such as this with any other mozilla software, or any software for that matter.

1. Find sunbird icon and open

Actual Results:  
The program will not open

Expected Results:  
The program will open. 

I have an older computer, but seeing as how the old version worked, I don't see how thats a problem.

Please specify what you mean with "new version".
Do you mean you upgraded to the official released version of Sunbird 0.3a2?
Or do you mean a nightly test build of Sunbird 0.3a2+?

on a **** pentium 3 celeron.

I also have a start problem with Sunbird nightly build on WinXP Professional (German). Following error message appears: "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem." (English equivalent to the German message)

That specific error is due to bug 342699 and hopefully will be fixed in tomorrow's nightlies.

Are you still seeing this problem in the current nightly builds?

If not, we can dupe this against bug 342699.

The problem is solved for me. I don't know if the problem of the reporter was really the same as mine.
