343042 - Delay when closing 36 tabs on the trunk

Using Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20060627 Minefield/3.0a1 and comparing it to today's Bon Echo build, I noticed there is a significant lag time when you attempt to close 36 open tabs that is not present using Bon Echo. I showed this and to seth and tracy, and seth suggested logging this bug for investigation.

STR:

1. Open the "Latest Headlines" RSS feed in tabs (36 tabs will open)
2. After the pages finish loading, close the other tabs, leaving one tab open.
3. Observe the delay when you close all of the tabs (leaving one open)

We went back to a trunk build before seth checked in his changes (20060626) and the issue still occurs, so it wasn't his changes in this patch - https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=227121&action=view that caused any issues.

There are two regressions. The biggest is between 1.9a1_2006061922 and 1.9a1_2006062006 (changed from 1 second to 3 seconds). 
The second regression (changed from 3 to 4 seconds) was when the tabs got bigger: between 1.9a1_2006062614 and 1.9a1_2006062616.

If this is via google/news RSS feed (comment 0 steps are unclear), I see no delay currently
