User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.4) Gecko/20060508 Firefox/1.5.0.4 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.4) Gecko/20060508 Firefox/1.5.0.4 After a system crash, firefox no longer displays downloads in the manager. Say i'm downloading a rar file. I click the link and say open and whatnot, then seeming, nothing happens. I look in the download manager and there is nothing. However, it finishes downloading and opens later, so it was downloading. It's really annoying because I can't see how much time is left on the download. I've tried reinstalling and everything. I also tried safe mode and it's options. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Crash your computer while running Firefox? 2. Download something. Actual Results: The download manager was empty but the download finished anyway. Expected Results: The download should have shown up in the manager. I had been experimenting with proxies before the incident.
Proxies don't seem to have anything to do with this bug. Nothing happened after uninstallation and reinstallation.
I would also like to add that I'm also unable to save images from any site. I can, however, download other files but they don't show up in the download manager. The field next to "All files downloaded to:" is blank in the Download Manager window. Nothing happens when you click it. Also, the Clean Up button is clickable (has color and is embossed), even if there were no files displayed in the Download Manager window.
Hello, I had a similar issue happen to me when Firefox crashed yesterday (Version 1.5.0.6). I found that replacing the downloads.rdf file with a backup of my profile that I had made a few days ago fixed the problem albeit displaying downloads from last week as one would expect. It seems that for some reason the downloads.rdf file was corrupted and there didnt seem to be any repair functionality in firefox.

Could you please put up your profile because I don't have a backup. >
I'm having the same problem with 1.5.0.7, just uninstalled and re-installed Firefox and it still doesn't work. Exact same circumstances, when I click a download link I can have it save to the default or a custom location but there is no progress listed whatsoever in the Download Manager and I can only tell when the download has completed by when the .part file goes away. I was able to make the Download Manager start working again (for the moment anyway) by closing Firefox, deleting my downloads.rdf and starting it up again.
Amazingly, I have the same problem. After a system crash I lost the use of downloads manager. Just a constant black state, but with the clean up tag highlighted, but no downloads available. Updated to the latest firefox, but that didn't fix it. Is there a way for suers to repair this function? I miss my download manager, I want used to it again.
Actally if you just delete downloads.rdf in your profile folder it gets fixed. Sorry for not makiing the status fixed.
