Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.4) Gecko/20060508 Firefox/1.5.0.4 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.4) Gecko/20060508 Firefox/1.5.0.4 I launched Firefox/1.5.0.4 only to find my bookmarks are gone; every one of them. Fortunately, I decided to try out the beta of MS IE 7.0. It isn't as good as Firefox, but I never lost a bookmark/favorite from that app. So unfortunately, bye bye guys, you really overlooked a HUGE BUG! matthew Klein cosmo614@optonline.net Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Just open the application, they are gone 2. 3. Actual Results: Install Firefox on your computer and pretend it is stable. Eventually, you'll be forced to migrate yourself and your entire company (4,253 employees and growing)back to the world of IE. It should have created a safe backup directory outside the Firefox/Mozilla directory and it should have given you the option of backing up and keeping updated backups of the the bookmarks.
Well, personally I would have asked someone whether or not there already are backups (there are) before migrating my 4,253 employee company, and then considered whether I ought to be migrating away from an OS where the built-in browser mistrusts the filesystem so much that it saves each bookmark as a separate file, but probably that's just me. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 249150 ***
