User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.0.4) Gecko/20060508 Firefox/1.5.0.4 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.0.4) Gecko/20060508 Firefox/1.5.0.4 Hi, since some time I experience on both Linux and Windows XP some very annoying behaviour of Firefox. I am regularly using plenty of tabs with different locations. I am changing between those windows often, just by clicking on the tabs. But since I installed the newer versions of Firefox (it seams to me), I regularly get a drag icon when I just want to click. It seams, that I just clicked a little bit to long and dragged a little tiny bit ... but that is enough that I get this anoying sticky thing on my mouse. I just don't want it! So I try to get rid of it -- but then Firefox reloads the actual window -- something I also don't want! It is very annoying for me. Is it possible to deactivate this stuff or to make it less sensible? More functions is good -- but I am working with this stuff ... and in 99.99% of all cases, I just don't want to drag anything (I even don't exactly know what it's use is) and just ... click. I thought, I report this stuff, because as big fan of Firefox I want it to be the best Firefox it could be! Best Regards, /juergen Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Have multiple tabs (tabbed browsing) 2. Change tabs by clicking on a different one -- be inprecise (like in a hurry) 3. Watch drag icon and try to get rid of it (when I do it, I drop it on the same window and it just reloads (annoying!)) Actual Results: Drag icon will be activated (not wanted it) Window reloads, when I release it on the same window/tab Expected Results: When I click, I don't want the drag icon -- it should be less sensible! Or: is there a way to deactivate this "feature" (I just don't need it) It seams to me, that the drag icon also comes up when I click on some pictures with links or even links themselves. This is also annoying but happens less in my case.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.4) Gecko/20060508 Firefox/1.5.0.4 I see only the drag indicator when I drag below the tabbox or when I pass the border between two tabs. The click lock in the mouse properties makes unwanted dragging easier BTW. Or maybe there's something wrong with mouse or driver?
Additional info: You can easily reproduce the problem, by intentionaly clicking on a tab and then drag a little bit with pressed mousebutton. Then the drag icon appearse and you can for example change the order of your tabs by dragging the icon across the tab-strip. My problem is that it happens even unintentionally very ease (approx. in one out of then clicks on the tab-strip). ... and No, my mouse-driver has no problem! It happens on two very different platforms (Linux (at home), Windows XP (at working place -- installed by the IT staff)).
Juergen, do you see this in FF2 started in safe mode? WFM also.
