I have in "windows display settings" changed font face and font size for most UI elements. 

some parts of Firefox like the "Install progress" or the "preferences Window" seem to have fixed size and do not take system font size into account. This causes text or other parts to get cut off

Please, either respect OS settings or make windows/dialogs resizeable

Affects current FF 3 and 2

I consider this major defect since some parts of the app become unusable.

The sizing problem is already known see bug 340677 comment 13. But I don't know for the "install progress" can you attach a screenshot?

it's not during the actual install process fortunately.

It's the progress window when doing a update with the build-in update checker. Example screenshot is from TB-2 update today

and, while speaging of Thunderbird, this bug is probably not Firefox-specific but an issue with all apps that use the toolkit for UI. It's just not visible with the current tabbed Options interface in TB

I have another example: the options dialog of an extension. Due to the fixed window size the text gets cut off

Could be a dupe of bug 150317. Let's see what other peoples think about this.

I agree, since this bug also affects Thunderbird, it is likely to be a core bug.
