I just came up with the thought of adding "interwiki" links to the interwiki table to support #REDIRECT [[http://*]] and #REDIRECT [[https://*]] type stuff. the only problem I can come up with is that it would allow the same thing in articles, (unless I am mistaken somewhere). This would allow the removal of one of our wiki hacks, which is a barrier to upgrading.
with switch to dekiwiki this feature will need to be reevaluated and likely entirely different, RESO/WONTFIX per that.
