User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.4) Gecko/20060508 Firefox/1.5.0.4 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.4) Gecko/20060508 Firefox/1.5.0.4 This is a feature request. The goal of this suggestion is to enable to recipient of a message to automatically create a new folder in Thunderbird, and a new rule that routes similar messages into that new folder. I envision this involving some sort of attachment that intructs Thunderbird to create a new folder and a new rule when clicked by thbe user. EXAMPLE The message Subject line is: "[RED PANDAS] Here's a link to a public domain picture" The body reads: "Hey, I found a picture people can use (see link). Do any of you want to receive more messages like this? Then click the icon below. It will create a new folder in Thunderbird entitled RED PANDAS, and a rule that will automatically route all subjects containing [RED PANDAS] into that folder." Reproducible: Always
While not quite what the original poster listed, it did spark an enhancement that would make life easier. Currently it would seem that when creating a filter from a message, one must have an existing folder into which the message can be placed if one wants to move it into a folder. It would be nice to be able to create a new folder within the folder selection window.
