344911 - New tabs appears when closing one tab or when I open the site in other tab, the previous tab enters the site too

I am using a registered version Windows XP SP2 on a Dual Pentium 3.0 Ghz with 512 mb of RAM. When I was using Firefox 1.5, it normally stops responding when visiting some sites(not always with the same site). Because of that I downloaded the Firefox 2.0b1 and it stopped crashing

But when I was using the www.orkut.com forum i choose to open the message in a new tab, so the previous tab too become the new page. It happened a few times.

Another problem I have: the firefox 2.0 has new feature of opening a new tab when I do a double click on an empty tab area. I think that because of that, when I closes the tab, clicking on the X, a new tab opens. That happens a lot of times.

This bug was reported using Firefox 3.0 or older, which is no longer supported. The bug has also not been changed in over 500 days and is still in UNCO.
Reporter, please retest this bug in Firefox 3.6.10 or later using a fresh profile, http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/managing+profiles. If you still see this problem, please update the bug. If you no longer see the bug, please set the resolution to RESOLVED, WORKSFORME.

No reply, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.12 or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
