User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (BeOS; U; BeOS BePC; en-US; rv:1.8.1b1) Gecko/20060717 Firefox/2.0b1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (BeOS; U; BeOS BePC; en-US; rv:1.8.1b1) Gecko/20060717 Firefox/2.0b1
When installing an extension (i.e. forecastfox) from addons.mozilla.org, firefox 2.0 crashes just as (or fractionally after) the extension install is complete.
The problem does not happen on trunk builds after 2006-06-02. I was able to reproduce this problem on a trunk build from 2006-05-25, so some commit between these two dates fixed the problem.
Reproducible: Always

Highly suspect Bug 344214 is the cause of this.

Any easy way to check if this is the case?

I am unable to reproduce on Win32 or Linux. Can you provide a regression range for the branch?

Unfortunately, branch builds have not been maintained for BeOS, so I don't have dailies I can check to see when the problem first appeared. I was hoping the fact that the problem stopped on the trunk in a known window might help isolate the issue.

Chances are it is a BeOS specific issue and the problem resides outside of the EM which makes it very difficult for me to track it down and verify it. From comment #0 it sounds like it is fixed on the trunk... true? If you can't reproduce it any longer please resolve this as wfm.
