344997 - HELP!! Session Saver crashes Firefox 1.5 @ start up & it never opens even in safe mode.

Ever since I installed Firefox 1.5.0.4 I have had trouble getting it to stay up. One of the worst sites I have had problems with is www.neopets.com The last time I closed & reopened it the session saver extension popped up & sd that the last session was causing a problem did I want to continue or abort. My home page is set to Google automatically but until recently I never had a problem. Well I have tried both options & neither choice made any difference. Firefox gets that far & no further. I don't even get a browser window even so I have no idea wether it is Google or some other page causing the problem. However, I have tried uninstalling it & reinstalling it but that didn't make any difference either. I actually did that 2x. Aparently Firefox is smart enough to save it's extensions when uninstalled so there was Sessionsaver back again to hang Foxfire up & no way insight for me to delete it as none of the instructions on your website apply as I did try to follow them but they all require the browser to open & me to be able to go to tools & uninstall extensions to fix it. What do you do if you can't do that? Is there somewhere in program files I can go to delete it? I looked but couldn't tell where the file would be. There is something marked extensions in program files but it is unreadable in Windows. Can I delete it? & if I do will that get Firefox back up & running right? I do realize that I would probably have to reinstall all my extensions @ that point. I just don't want to screw things up worse by ignorance. A little bit of knowledge can cause more harm than none at all & most of my knowledge is windows based. Any Help you can give me would be great. I'm having to use IE now just to reach the internet & am sorely missing Firefox.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.click on firefox icon to open. Wait. If you are lucky step 2 happens.
2. session saver pops up & says there is a problem do you wan to continue or abort. choose a word to click on. It doesn't seem to make a difference whichone you choose you get the same result.
3. If Session saver pops up a 2nd window & wants you to click ok click ok.
4. Wait for Firefox to load. (do something whie you wait you will be witing all day if you expect a window to pop up.)

Actual Results:  
set up steps - 1.set your home page to Google personalied homepage - you'll have to make one for yourself. 2. Go to www,neopets.com & surf & play games there. Then close your bowser. I can't remember If I closed that tab or not. Probably not. 3 make sure you have session saver (the newest update) installed on your machine.

Once you close Firefox 1.5.0.4 session saver hangs Firefox & keeps it from fully opening. 

Expected Results:  
All you get is the question about which you want continue or abort. & the message about storing the badfile & it wants you to click ok. & @ that point Firefox should open but it doesn't. When you check Windows Task Manager you will find that the exe is running under processes but the program is not running in the application window.

It sounds to me that Session Saver is the cause of your problem.
If you disable that, do you still get these problems?

I cannot even open 1.5 to be able to close & disable session saver. This is the problem I have with using 1.5. Until yesterday I didn't know about the Beta version that was out. When I installed that it disabled many of my extensions including Session saver. Nothing less than the Beta version will run on my computer though. Big Bug for 1.5. There is no way to disable any extensions that are crashing firefox without actually getting it open & disabling them from tools. If Firefox doesn't even open you can't fix the problem. I was so relieved when the Beta 1 actually ran. I'd been having to use IE for weeks & my computer is programmed for Firefox to be dominant. What a mess!

Well, you should be able to open Firefox in safe mode:

If that doesn't work, you could use a new profile:
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Manager
It could be that Firefox stayed in memory after shutdown, in your case.
You can remove the firefox.exe process, by pressing Ctrl-alt-delete, choose the tab 'processes' and then select the firefox.exe process and delete it. After that, you should be able to start up again.

I've tried the session saver extension:

And I visited http://www.neopets.com , but I don't get any of the problems you mentioned.
