Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050920

Deleting more than one entry from history very slow.
On my system (Athlon XP 2Gz) it requires about 0.5 seconds per entry, maybe growing on larger numbers.

But: deleting the whole host folder is fast.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open history viewer
2. choose some host folder with lots of entries
3. select many entries
4. hit DEL

Actual Results:
Mozilla is completely locked up for a long time (several minutes)
Version: unspecified → 1.7 Branch
> 2. choose some host folder with lots of entries

How many is "lots"? Please try seamonkey or firefox. Mozilla 1.7.x is no longer supported.

I *am* using seamonkey.

BTW: Both branches have this problem.
It seems the history file access is slow.
What versions (buildIDs) do you see this with? comment 0 says "1.7.12"

Yes.

BTW: I'm running gentoo. All versions of mozilla/seamonkey/firefox I ever tried had this problem (at least on linux - didnt check others)

Can you point me to the code which is actually doing this ?
(beginning from the point where the user hit 'DEL' in the bookmark viewer).

Any news on this issue ?
- Mozilla 1.7 is dead.

- History is being completely revamped for SeaMonkey 2.0. Please recheck with a trunk build and file a new bug if you still see the problem.
