That happens with the latest mplayerplug-in from cvs, firefox-1.5.0.5, mozilla-1.7.13. xv is the xvideo extension of the Xorg server. It works flawlessly when using x11 for video playback. It also seems to depend on the bitrate in that case: using the low bandwidth version works more often than it does not.

firefox-2.0b1 and the latest nightly release failed here, too. Others (mplayerplug-in developer) have replicated that problem.

(MPlayer dev-CVS-20060519-3.4.6)

Reproducible: Always
Can you point out more precisely why this is related to firefox?

I'm not sure whether that is related to firefox/gecko. I have filed a bug with mplayerplug-in, too.
Reporter, do you still see this problem with the latest Firefox 2? If not, can you please close this bug as WORKSFORME. Thanks!
