In the search sidebar panel, if you choose a new search category, the list of
available engines should update for that category. Only the <All Engines>
category updates due to this bug.
Note: due to <box> bustage caused by evaughan (see bug # 34280), after choosing a
new search category, you need to resize either the sidebar or the entire window
to force the engine list to update.

Chris, does this new file work for you? (It seems to for me. Why this ever
worked with the old generic builder, I'm not sure.)
