User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060426 Firefox/1.5.0.3 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060426 Firefox/1.5.0.3 Writing an email in the compose window of Gmail is difficult, with choppy, halting. lagging behaviors and even occasional freezing. I believe that CPU is persistently high when composing emails. Problem is very reliable and apparently very longstanding. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Log into Gmail 2. Click compose, reply or forward 3. Start typing a message in the main panel. Actual Results: Typing an email in Gmail typically results in halting, choppy behavior, with some freezing. I assume high CPU use is involved. Expected Results: Typing an email in Gmail, should, ideally, be as flowing and smooth as typing one in Eudora, my non-web mail. Am I dreaming? Pretty consistent, long-standing behavior. Composing emails in Gmail has never been right with any FF version.
This situation is much improved in 1.5.06, however, it is still there to some extent, although it is not so important. Frankly, I find that FF lags in typing most any text into any box, including this box here.
