When you forward a mail with CC including Japanese words, the CC-row's Japanese words will not be corrupted. Everything is normal.
The problem is very likely that the message is sent in a format that does not support Japanese. I am experiencing that issue with the latest Thunderbird and I'm quite sure there is another bug report out there.
ylsibo, were you experiencing this on Japanese or Western Windows? I can verify the following steps, does that accurately reflect your problem? 1) create new message 2) paste "テスト <firstname.lastname@example.org>" in To: field 3) set encoding to Western 3) Ctrl+S to save the message 4) look into drafts folder and see "???"
