I'm seeing a Thunderbird bug that looks like Firefox bug 346308. Coincidence? I have to kill the client, and no Talkback dialog appears.
What build are you using? (Trunk?) I'm pretty sure bug 346308 is branch-only. Can you attach a debugger and see where you're hanging?

I'm running: version 2 alpha 1 (20060728) (the version strings are less detailed than in FF...) I'm running my XP box and don't have a dev environment set up. I might be able to do that on Linux (assuming I can reproduce). Anything else I might look for?
