Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.5) Gecko/20060719 Firefox/1.5.0.5
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.5) Gecko/20060719 Firefox/1.5.0.5

Adding support for new operating systems and platforms requires a change to the configuration file and cannot be tweaked in the same way as other Bugzilla settings. Since the list of supported operating systems is in the same file as the database credentials, performing maintenance on this list must be done by a user trusted with direct access to the database. This is less flexible than, and inconsistent with, the rest of Bugzilla's configuration options.

Reproducible: Always

Expected Results:
Configuration of supported operating systems and platforms should be available to users who are authorized without needing to subvert Bugzilla's security entirely by allowing direct database access.
Version: unspecified → 2.16.7
OS: Windows XP → Linux
