User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8.0.6) Gecko/20060728 Firefox/1.5.0.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8.0.6) Gecko/20060728 Firefox/1.5.0.6 Before I upgraded to the latest version of firefox, I was always asked to enter my master pasword before firefox started. Now that I upgraded, Firefox starts right up and goes to my home page. I am not asked to enter a master password until I enter a new web address. Reproducible: Always
Summary: Master Password? → No longer asked for master password on launch
This is by design, as the master password only protects your stored password (ie, not all the data in your profile). As such, it's only supposed to be prompted for when the password manager actually needs to decrypt an entry to log into a site. The prompt-on-startup was most likely caused by an extension (eg Gmail Notifier) that logged into a site when you launched the browser.
