A single click opens three pages. Two for a link associated with the link's background.

Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20060810 SeaMonkey/1.5a
Go to http://www.jewellerylondon.com/
Clicking on Exhibitor list takes you to
http://www.jewellerylondon.com/page.cfm/Action=ExhibList/t=m/goSection=11
Each exhibitor has a link to their own page, e.g.
http://www.jewellerylondon.com/page.cfm/action=Exhib/ExhibID=00733
Interestingly the entire background to the table shows another URL (visible in the status bar in both IE and SeaMonkey) which leads to another company!
http://www.jewellerylondon.com/page.cfm/LinkTarget=00156/URLTarget=http://www.jewellerylondon.com/page.cfm/Link=0/t=m
Clicking on an exhibitor’s link in SeaMonkey (build 20060810) does 3 things:
1) opens the selected link in the current window
2) opens 2 new windows each showing the home page of the other company pointed to by the ‘background’ link!!
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Fully explained under Details
2.
3.
Actual Results:
Two unwanted windows opened for a link I did not click.
Expected Results:
SeaMonkey should not action the 'background' link. Let alone twice!
Norton IS 2005 with Anti-Spyware is running.

All works fine for me. With clean profile do you have the same problem?

Pavel, When testing before submitting the report I created a new, clean profile.
In Firefox (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.6) Gecko/20060728 Firefox/1.5.0.6) the behaviour is equally strange but different. None of the links to the exhibitors' pages show up in the status bar, and clicking does not take you to one; it only opens a new tab displaying the page of the 'background' link.

With linux seamonkey build 2006-08-13-08-trunk, I get two new windows with mozilla.org when I click on the link, with the current window going to mozilla.com.

the behavior of the testcase changed from opening a single window for .mozilla.org and not going to mozilla.com at all to the current behavior between builds 2006-05-02-10-trunk and 2006-05-03-09-trunk. I don't see anything particularly interesting in that range and the previous behavior also seems incorrect.
