found using linux opt comm bits [2000.04.06.10]. 1. select File > Open File to bring up the file picker. 2. type in a directory (eg, /u/pavlov/) in the File Name textfield and hit enter key. dir listing is updated. 3. click Cancel button to dismiss the file picker dialog. result: the dialog goes away, but a new browser window appears, with the directory list entered in step 2. expected: if you hit Cancel, the dialog should go away with no other side effects.
