There is no option to enable it in the edit options menu and I can't install any software from your add ons/extensions site. I was trying to install 1-clickweather. 

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.go to Firefox add-ons
2.choose one ie 1-click weather
3.click 'install'

Actual Results:  
error message at top of page says "software installation currently disabled. Click edit-options to enable it and try again."

Expected Results:  
There was no option in the box that opened to allow me to enable software downloads.Culd not find it anywhere.

I assume given me a 'allow software download option' but there is none.

There are instructions in bug 310737 on how to manually re-enable software installation
