I am running the current version and have been for a while. Every time I bring
up the Mozilla browser I get the page that says "Hey, your version is more then
4 weeks old. You should check to ee if I am running the current version before
bringing up that page.
John
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Bring up the browser if more that 4 weeks old.
2. Get the page rather than my starting page.
3. Click on home to get my starting page.
Actual Results:
see above, happens all the time
Expected Results:
If I'm running the current version, I expect to see my starting page.
Love your poducts, but this is an irritation.

Is the website you mean http://www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/start/ ? I wonder why you get that, normally this URL is only for nightly builds if I recall correctly. What do you mean with "Click on home to get my starting page."? Normally Mozilla always goes to your home page set under Navigator in the Preferences window. Or does Mozilla do something else for you here?

Ah I see, that page is displayed every time after you have updated Mozilla. Oh and the URL is http://www.mozilla.org/start/, not http://www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/start/ (at least for 1.7 branch).

Yeah, the page http://www.mozilla.org/start/ comes up, which says that my
Mozilla is over 4 weeks old. That should not be the criteria. The criteria
should be, am I running the latest version, regardless of how old the version
is. "They" should check the version I am running first, and if I am running the
current version, regardless of its age, my own starting page should come up,
not http://www.mozilla.org/start/. It may not be a bug, but it is an irritation
since I must then click on Home to get my own starting page even when I am
running the current version. Their assumption must be that they would bring out
a new version at least every four weeks, thus making that criteria an appropriate
one. The real criteria should be, is the current version being run. If so, bring
up the user's starting page.

The start page for SeaMonkey was overhauled a while ago, in part so that this doesn't happen any more. The old Mozilla start page http://www.mozilla.org/start/ is also redirected to http://www.seamonkey-project.org/start/ now, so that this problem shouldn't happen any more.
If it still does, then something is probably wrong with the preference browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone that should reflect the currently installed version. I guess Mozilla will now always show it because it is obsolete.
