After opening multiple tabs, the tabs cannot be closed via the conventional red tab close button at the top right.  Instead, they need to be closed through middle-click on the mouse or through right-clicking the tab and pressing "Close Tab."

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open two tabs
2. close by clicking the red [x]

Actual Results:  
the button does not close

Expected Results:  
the tab should be closing

maybe a side effect of fixing #347662 ?
