Can't bookmark my favorates do I need a plug of some kind?

I uninstalled an old copy once before because I can not bookmark
my pages.

1. try to bookmark a page

Actual Results:  
The tab just sets there

Expected Results:  
no bookmark

bookmarked it so I could go back to it
