Confirming. Seen using Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.1b2) Gecko/20060821 Firefox/2.0b2 on the Mac. It hoses things so bad everything on my PPC Mac running 10.3.9 comes to a crawl.

Performance should have improved markedly in 3.6. See http://muizelaar.blogspot.com/2010/01/graphics-performance-in-firefox-36.html Are you happy to close this as WFM now. If not can you correct the link to the example as it seems to point somewhere else now.
