We have a "startpages" partition, but only old Mozilla start pages seem to be protected by it. I propose that the /start-pages/* directory path be added to the "startpages" partition and that the appropriate people be added to the partition. While I doubt that we'll ever have a real problem with somebody changing the pages, it couldn't hurt to restrict them anyway (in case one of the accounts get hacked and used for malevolent purposes).
makes sense to me. partition owner is dbaron.

I added: axel@pike.org yoshino@mozilla-japan.org pkim@mozilla.com steven@silverorange.com as members of the partition (axel and steven as peers, even) and added: mozilla-org/html/start-snippets/* as part of the list of files protected by it. Despot didn't say it updated anything, though, so I'm a little suspicious of whether it actually worked...
The changes work for me. I attempted to add another line to mozilla-org/html/start-snippets/.htaccess to test this, and I received this message: You may not check into partition Start Pages the file mozilla-org/html/start-snippets/.htaccess on branch HEAD If you think you should be allowed to, send mail to one of the below people: steven@silverorange.com axel@pike.org dbaron@dbaron.org cvs commit: Pre-commit check failed cvs [commit aborted]: correct above errors first! Fixed, I guess? Does anybody else need to be added?

> Fixed, I guess? Does anybody else need to be added? Thanks David and Reed -- we are planning a wholesale update to the start page snippets to happen this fall, with help from Mozilla IT. Is it safe to assume that Mozilla IT will be able to commit changes to CVS to the startpages partition without being on the list here?
They can always add themselves to the list. Justdave's already on it, I think.
