Here is my message to my bank -
I have just been trying set up a one-off payment, using Firefox 1.5.0.6 on
Macintosh. The payee acount number field would accept only 3 digits, but
the system required 4, and I could not proceed.
And here is their reply -
Regarding your enquiry about the field requiring 4 digits but only
accepting 3. There is a bit of a bug with Firefox that can put a space
'_' at the front of the field. All you need to do to clear this is put
your cursor in the field and push both the 'delete' and 'backspace'
keys. This will remove the invalid space and allow you to enter your
number correctly.
Reproducible: Always

Reporter, do you still see this problem with the latest Firefox 2? If not, can you please close this bug as WORKSFORME. Thanks!

I think this bug is resolved -- I have had no trouble since, but am not sure that I have even tried again to enter numbers in this way.
