User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.8.0.6) Gecko/20060728 Firefox/1.5.0.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.8.0.6) Gecko/20060728 Firefox/1.5.0.6 Suddenly, with no error messages, Firefox 1.5.0.6 had stopped downloading anything from anywhere. It opens the initial download dialogue box, and then saves a randomly named empty .zip file to my desktop with no further download happening. I was downloading music when it happened. I've reinstalled the Firefox software and checked all the prefs. I don't know what else to do. SAFARI DOWNLOADS FINE. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. For example, I go to MacUpdate.com or VersionTracker.com 2. Then, I select a file to download like http://macupdate.com/info.php/id/10308 3. Then I get "You have chosen to open MeditationMusic.zip which is a PC ZIP Archive from http://www.davidahmed.com. What should Firefox do with this file? 4. I select "Save to Disk" 5. I click "OK" 6. Firefoxs puts an empty and arbitrarily named file like: 4h6444wk.zip on my desktop Actual Results: I get the same results each and every time except that the arbitrary file name is different. Expected Results: The software should have downloaded the file to my desktop.
I have the same experience with TRUNK builds of Firefox and SeaMonkey thru the 10/7/2006 builds. Before it appeared in the TRUNK builds I was seeing it in cocoa-enabled builds. Now there's no difference ... all fail. Firefox 2.0rc2 downloads as it should. SeaMonkey 1.1b downloads as it should. I'm keeping this short as the other info is mostly repetitve. Ask any questions needed. Dale

Reporter, do you still see this problem with the latest Firefox 2? If not, can you please close this bug as WORKSFORME. Thanks!

Thanks! > For the reporter's info, I have not had this problem for some months now. I was related to opening the download progress dialogs. That's been fixed in Firefox 2 & 3 and SeaMonkey. It WORKSFORME now. Dale
