350827 - Removing mailing list entries not updated in the Address Book window

This is using Thunderbird version 3 alpha 1 (20060830)

If you edit a mailing list entry using properties, then after pressing OK on the properties window, the list in the Address Book window is not updated to reflect the changes.

Also, if you click on one of the entries in a mailing list in the Address Book window to highlight it, and then press delete, it does delete the entry but it looks like nothing changed because the Address Book window is not updated to reflect the change.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.  Create a mailing list
2.  Add some entries
3.  Click the mailing list in the list on the left of the Address Book window
4.  Click Properties above
5.  In the Properties, remove one of the entries.  Clicking with the mouse on the entries is broken (Bug 350784) so you may need to use TAB or SHIFT-TAB
6.  Press OK
7.  Observe that the entry you removed is still present in the list displayed in the Address Book window [wrong]

ALSO this similar issue related to updating the mailing list and having it properly displayed in the Address Book window.

1.  Create a mailing list
2.  Add some entries
3.  Click the mailing list in the list on the left of the Address Book window
4.  In the Address Book window, click one of the mailing list entries.
5.  Press DEL
6.  Notice that having pressed DEL, the list is not updated with the deletion, although the deletion actually happened
Actual Results:  
Wrong behaviour

Expected Results:  
Right behaviour

This may be a duplicate, or at least a dependency, of https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=181165.  The root cause of both appears to be a lack of updating the Mailing List display when a change is made.

but i know this has been a problem in the past

I just tested 20061004 build on XP sp2.

When you create the new mailing list as per instructions in this case, the list does not appear on the left in the list of mailing lists, however if you close the window and reopen it, it does show.

Also, if you add an entry into the mailing list, I cannot get it to show in the right hand column at all, though it does show if you view the properties of the list.

I'll attach a graphic of this.

Creating new lists seems broken to me.  

But yes there has been an improvement in behaviour visible when I delete an entry from an existing list.

A problem also still apparent in 20061004 is that when editing the properties of a mailing list, you can't edit any of the entries by clicking on them with the mouse because the focus doesn't change when you do that, although you can move the cursor by pressing TAB and shift-TAB.

That's a separate bug that you raised (bug 350784) - its highly unlikely that that bug has anything to do with this one.

yes you're right, so please ignore that bit

But something seems broken seriously enough so that I cannot create a mailing list at all with mailing entries that show in the right column to be able to follow the steps I provided in this case to reproduce the problem.  

Also, at the moment I'm seeing three mailing lists with no names appearing, and I can delete them, and they seem to go away, but as soon as I close the "Address Book" window and reopen it, they're back

Reporter, does this still occur with the latest supported 2.0.0.x / Shredder trunk nightlies?

(1.5.0.x is now end-of-life and the latest supported 2.0.0.x is 2.0.0.17)

I am no longer using WinXP, but I can confirm I do not see this issue in 2.0.0.16 on Linux.

However, I do see a similar list-update problem when ADDING mailing list entries.  When clicking properties to ADD mailing list entries, the list is not updated until you click elsewhere and then click back.
