I would like an addition to bug pages (show_bug.cgi):
Two buttons, "Request NEW status" and "Request RESOLVED status" - a safe alternative to actually marking the bugs as such, good for people without the necessary permissions.

The necessity for this became obvious when we organized the Konqueror Bug Triage day. We circumvented it by setting up a wiki page where people can request marking of bugs, but we soon found that to be inefficient.

I can elaborate on the functionality we want, if necessary.

I don't think we should have buttons for that, but I understand why this feature could be useful. Note that you would get something similar with a flag named e.g. 'status-change'. The best I can suggest is to put a comment in the bug (or in the status whiteboard if you have editbugs privs). The default assignee will probably look at it.

Yeah, it's a good idea, but it can already be done totally by flags.
