User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de; rv:1.8.1b2) Gecko/20060821 Firefox/2.0b2 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de; rv:1.8.1b2) Gecko/20060821 Firefox/2.0b2 I just tried to install a few addons but noticed that none of them actually works with firefox 2.0 beta 2. Why are the addons that don't work with my version even downloaded? Shouldn't the page show me that a certain addon won't work for me? Also I think it would be nice if I could have a option that only shows me addons that actually work with my version? (btw: I know I'm using a beta version, but the problem is not specific to betas) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Use a new firefox version (beta, nightly build, ...) 2. Try to install an extension you find on the addons website 3. Notice the error message saying this extension won't work with your version
You'll notice that right above the install button, it says what applications, versions and OSes the add-on is compatible with - that's the information you're looking for. The option to search for only compatible add-ons, or to be able to select an app version to filter by or whatever, is a dupe :) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 347202 ***
