I think windows had a similar issue at one point, but it doesn't seem to happen anymore.

could a min-height be missing on the addressing area?

I can confirm this issue. TB 2.0b2 Mac OS X 10.4.8

please confirm if this is the case for newer versions, (mac, lin, win)
2.0.0.16 and trunk 3.0a2
I get a weird one on vista 3.0a2(not in 2) default theme which may be related or not. So, not to clutter or divert this bug I got a new one, Bug 451705
