The two vpath instructions in http://lxr.mozilla.org/mozilla1.8/source/browser/locales/Makefile.in#48 make us pick up search plugins listed in list.txt from en-US first, and then from the localization source. In the coming days, I'll go around and cvs remove all those that I find, as an act of tree hygiene. As those plugins don't get picked up anyway, removing them is hopefully going to get confusion down a bit, rather than up.
Been there, done that.
