The cursor stays at the beginning of a line as it is further moved up. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Enter three lines of text into a new mail composer window (auto-detect the format, with default for plain-text). This has to be typed-in, pasting doesn't trigger the bug. Do not press enter. 2. The cursor is at the end of the last line. Press the up-arrow key. Actual Results: The cursor moves to the beginning of the second line. Expected Results: The cursor should have moved to the end of the second line. Pressing the End key in the first or second line and then using the arrow-up and -down keys leaves the cursor at the end of the line.
Hello, I have had a very similar bug for the past while. The only difference is that it the cursor doesn't always stay at the beginning of the line when continuing to move the cursor up and down in the message - it jumps to the end of very short lines. The cursor also seems to jump around randomly from the beginning of the line to the expected position when the paragraphs are shorter than three lines. This is always reproducible. I'm also using Ubuntu (the bug existed in Ubuntu 6.06 and now also in 6.10 in a clean Thunderbird 1.5.0.8 (20061115) install).
