Spin-off from bug 249240.
The current behavior is different for POP3/IMAP were IMAP seems to work as expected. Changing the password externally and using IMAP to reconnect brings up the password dialog directly after the alert dialog gets closed. For a POP3 connection I have to close this warning dialog four times before I can set the new password. We should change the POP3 behavior that it's working like the IMAP one.

David, I just stumbled over this bug again while clearing my inbox. Have there be done any work in the past for Thunderbird 3?
