The wallpaper that fixes bug #348836 should be removed and replaced by logic that considers whether or not it is possible to recover more of the erroneous line of code. It -should- be possible to do so, if we are not compiling from a file (!ts->file) since we should still have the full buffer which was provides to us for compilation. Currently, for both buffer and file streams, we cannot backtrack far enough to give an appropriate error message for overlong lines of text -- this could at least be improved for buffer streams.
