User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.7) Gecko/20060909 Firefox/1.5.0.7
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.7) Gecko/20060909 Firefox/1.5.0.7

Just updated Firefox to ver. 1.5.0.7

I open a received message, and choose to Reply to it.

On reply to the received message, at the message text box, I compose some text, and then I hilite some portion of text and hit Edit of the Firefox browser and only the Paste option appears as valid, while what I want to do is COPY the selected text, so as to relocate it, for instance. The usual Copy, Cut, and Delete options at that Edit drop-menu appear dimmed.

I have tried this several times and the situation is consistently repetitive.

Also, as I have TWO separate Yahoo e-mail accounts, both of the free type, with no extras, I tried on the other (not the one in which I found the problem) and IN THE OTHER account, the dimmed functions DO WORK.

I iterate between both accounts and somehow the problem manifest in one of the accounts and not in the other.

It is my understanding that the browser can cut/copy/delete such text and that there 'should not' be any differences due to Yahoo, but can't know that for sure.

Also, the problem does not manifest in the Yahoo e-mail text fields for To: and Subject:

There, no problems with the cut-copy-delete functions of the browser, when composing text at Yahoo mail.

I hope you can find what's going on and fixt it.

Don't seem to have encountered this before, as I do this quite often and have used Firefox since its beginnings.

I use an HP Pavillion AMD Turion 64 laptop with Windows XP home edition.

Thanks.

Manlio.
