Details

Any data pasted into the compose window loses all formatting. I tested it with TextEdit, and a Mozillazine poster reported it with Word and Excel. ( http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=2497555 ) The problem does not occur when pasting to Mail.app or on Windows. Steps to reproduce: 1) Open TextEdit, set to Rich Text mode (Format >> Make Rich Text). 2) Type something and format it (bold, italic, etc). Copy it. 3) Open Thunderbird, open a compose window, and ensure it's configured to send HTML mail. 4) Paste the text. Note all formatting is lost. 5) Now open Mail.app, open a compose window, and paste the text. Note that formatting is preserved. Under Windows, TB's compose windows preserves formatting, including tables from Excel 2002 (a.k.a., Excel XP). Possibly related bugs: bug 239817 - probably the same bug bug 312739 bug 310948 System: Mac OS X 10.3.9 Thunderbird 1.0 (Note that the Mozillazine reporter used TB 1.5.0.7 Intel version)
