Details
Change default 'assigned to:' of Product=Thunderbird bug from specific person to nobody@thunderbird.something.
Currently, initial "assigned to:" of Product=Thunderbird bug when bug opened is set to M. Scott, once component field is set (except jwalden for Help documentation and dveditz for Security).
This tends to cause Thunderbird bug opener's misunderstanding(including me :-)) that M. Scott is heavily working and will continue to work for his trouble or issue, especially when a bug is enhancement request and status=NEW.
And, thus, there are currently 4114 open/not-ASSGINED Thunderbird bugs whose "assigned to:" is set to M. Scott.
I think he can't easily search his owing bugs via. "assigned to:" field(at least status=ASSIGNED is required additionally), although he doesn't seem to have complained on it.
Defaulting to him was done when Thunderbird project had been kicked off. This had been useful until Thunderbird was shipped. But after shipment of Thunderbird as product to general users, I think demerit is greater than merit.
Many products/components are already changed to default "assigned to:" = nobody@something.
Please change default "assigned to:" of Thunderbird bug to nobody@thunderbird.something, and change already set "assigned to:" of open/not-ASSIGNED Thunderbird bugs to nobody@thunderbird.something.

Scott, David, Magnus, or Phil: Thoughts?

Scott's call, but I think nobody@mozilla.org is a very good thing. The mass-move of existing bugs worries me, between the fact that NEW doesn't mean not working on and the fact that I'm watching all the QA contacts, but I'm all for changing the assignee for new bugs. The only argument I've ever heard against it was from someone, wtc?, saying he wanted bugspam about anything nobody was working on, but had no interest in things someone was working on, and thus didn't want to watch default QA contacts instead. Didn't make any sense to me.

Me(bug opener) too :-) Mass-move is better to be avoided. We can easily change by "Reassign to default" now by bugzilla enhancement if required.

I guess I'm all for it too, but yeah, Scott's call since he's most affected by it.

I'm in agreement for doing this for new bugs and not a bulk move of existing bugs.
